Best Selling Wetsuits of 2022

Best Selling Wetsuits of 2022

It was an exciting year for wetsuits in 2022, with welcome upgrades from O’Neill, Roxy, and Billabong and the return of an old favorite: the resurrected O'Neill's Women’s Psycho Tech. Other reputable brands like Buell have climbed the ranks, and their RB2 model ranks on our list in the Men’s, Women’s, and Youth categories.

Now that the past year is in the rearview mirror, we’ve looked at the numbers and compiled a comprehensive list of Cleanline Surf’s best-selling wetsuits of 2022.

*For this list, we include less common thicknesses like a straight 3mm or a 3.5mm in the most similar category. In this example, the 3/2mm section.

The Breakdown

2022 was a wild year, but what does that mean in terms of wetsuit sales? Well, the Hyperfreak 5/4+ Hooded Chest Zip overtook the O’Neill Psycho Tech 5/4+ as our most popular men’s wetsuit for 2022. Warm, freakishly flexible, and pretty darn comfortable, the Hyperfreak is good as it gets, performance-wise, in wetsuits. The most popular women’s suit overall was the Billabong Synergy 5/4 Hooded Chest Zip for the third year in a row, which makes sense considering how good of a value it is. And lastly, for the youth, it’s no surprise that the Youth 4/3mm Epic topped out as our best-selling suit for groms.

Looking at all the results, it’s exciting to see newer brands like Volcom, Vissla, and Sisstrevolution join the ranks of established names like Rip Curl and Quiksilver. It’s a consumer's market out there with the availability of many great quality offerings, from tropical spring suits to beefy 5/4 rubber for frigid PNW waters.
