The Velvet Hour is like the magic hour. Being in the water from sunset to dark is Soleil's favorite time — when the sky is colorful it evokes a feeling that's hard to explain. Named for the lavender and blush boards, as it pulls from the soft and vibrant hues of sunset in Malibu. These boards are also logs — which is perfect for the all kinds of surf!
This log is a classic Australian style involvement log design made popular in the late 60s in Australia before the transition era. Its wide point is slotted back from the center point making for a wider tail area pushing the effective volume to the rear of the board. The wider tail helps create a lift for nose riding when you're in the pocket and it's got a narrow nose profile for control in steep tight pockets when you're tip riding. It also has a concave to create that extra lift for nose riding. When you combine all these design elements you get a board that nose rides seamlessly in the pocket and then with that wide point back, creates a pivot point which allows a board to be super maneuverable.
Combining all of the best things about a traditional log into one design and including the magic of the Thunderbolt flex pattern, potentially makes this the most user-friendly women’s performance log on the market.

Product Construction
Thunderbolt Technology
Thunderbolt Technology utilizes advanced materials and technology to decrease weight while enhancing performance, flex characteristics, board control, and durability. Mass-produced epoxy boards are corky and stiff. While light and durable, they simply don’t ride well. But Thunderbolt’s hand-built boards take superior epoxy materials to an entirely different level. These boards provide the feel and sensitivity of a good poly board but deliver performance far beyond traditional epoxy pop-out constructions. Indeed, those who ride these high-tech epoxy boards claim they actually feel better than polyurethane. Thunderbolt boards are 100% hand layups. They begin with an EPS foam core with multi-component carbon fiber stringer systems that produce engineered flex and twist for a more lively, responsive performance. Proprietary designs employing internal carbon fiber components are then arrayed in the deck and bottom of the deck for precise flex control and strength. The core shield PVC provides flexible protection to increase strength and durability without compromising the flex and twist characteristics built into the blank. With ample carbon fiber and fiberglass in the deck, bottom, and rails, these boards both outperform and outlast traditional PU boards and other epoxy designs.
Thunderbolt Silver
There are 3 construction types within the Thunderbolt Technology. Thunderbolt Silver is handcrafted using an all-around fiberglass lamination. The bottom laminations are 6oz. and 4oz. fiberglass layers, while the deck laminations are 6oz carbon fiber and 6oz fiberglass. A classic feel with an enhanced hand-crafted result.
