A new update to Rob Machado's popular Seaside and Beyond. Built in a new materials recipe for the first time, this design is a long fish shape inspired by a mix of the Seaside and his previous experiences on Skip Frye shapes. Ever since Skip showed Rob his Fish shapes in the 7-foot range around 20 years ago, they've been on his mind, and the Seaside was a pathway to making his own.
Today, the Seaside and Beyond is built in Thunderbolt Surfboards technology, which means a new lamination schedule and separate flex characteristic than what the prior Seaside and Beyond shape had. To Rob, the sensations of riding this design in a new build deserved a limited release globally, so that Seaside and Beyond fans could get a new feel in one of their favorite shapes.

Product Construction
Thunderbolt Technology
Thunderbolt Technology utilizes advanced materials and technology to decrease weight while enhancing performance, flex characteristics, board control, and durability. Mass-produced epoxy boards are corky and stiff. While light and durable, they simply don’t ride well. But Thunderbolt’s hand-built boards take superior epoxy materials to an entirely different level. These boards provide the feel and sensitivity of a good poly board but deliver performance far beyond traditional epoxy pop-out constructions. Indeed, those who ride these high-tech epoxy boards claim they actually feel better than polyurethane. Thunderbolt boards are 100% hand layups. They begin with an EPS foam core with multi-component carbon fiber stringer systems that produce engineered flex and twist for a more lively, responsive performance. Proprietary designs employing internal carbon fiber components are then arrayed in the deck and bottom of the deck for precise flex control and strength. The core shield PVC provides flexible protection to increase strength and durability without compromising the flex and twist characteristics built into the blank. With ample carbon fiber and fiberglass in the deck, bottom, and rails, these boards both outperform and outlast traditional PU boards and other epoxy designs.
Thunderbolt Red
There are 3 construction types within the Thunderbolt Technology. Thunderbolt Red is handcrafted using an all-around fiberglass lamination. The bottom laminations are 6 and 2-oz. layers while the deck lamination is 6 and 4-ounces. The handcrafted result is a competition weight and flex longboard.
