I've used many other brands, and I'm very happy with these boots. Slide on System works great, time will tell how durable these are. The bottom of foot/sole feel is excellent, one of the best I've felt on any boot, which is a plus. Rip Curl quality is solid. My only comment to others is, size up! I wear an 11.5 shoe, got the size 12 boot, and its a bit tighter than I expected. I think they might wear in, but just a tip to others, size up if you are on the fence.

I'm on my 5th pair
Plenty warm in 45 deg water Kite foiling and surf. Stable underfoot with the split toe. Since they are thin bottomed, do not walk over barnacles or distances on asphalt. The soft bottoms are for feel of the board, not to protect you from sharp objects.

I Don't like booties.
But when the water is really cold might as well go with the 5 mm that way your feet are actually warm. Didn't really notice any lack of feel on board from 3 mm too 5 mm.
