Product Info

The Futures Fins Vector 3/2 Blackstix+ Tri Fin Set is the next evolution in Futures Fins' high-performance fin technology, advancing beyond the previous Vector 3/2 in Alpha construction. Unlike traditional Blackstix, the Blackstix+ features a stiffer layup, ensuring the Vector 3/2 foils stay fully engaged throughout turns. This increased stiffness and resonance enhances drive, hold, and spring back providing more control and power without sacrificing the fluid rail-to-rail transition. The result is a fin that delivers a precise yet responsive, lively feel, making it ideal for surfers looking to elevate their performance in a variety of conditions.

Additional Info

What is a Vector Foil?
It is a proprietary Futures foil with a concave surface on the inside of the front fins, increasing surface area, water attachment, and lift.

What is a 3/2?
3/2 complements the Vector with an extra 3 degrees of cant and 2 degrees of toe, introducing a twist to the foil for improved planning angles in sharp turns, creating lift and hold deeper into the maneuver.

Performance Benefits of the Vector 3/2
The Vector 3/2 is a Speed Generating fin, maximizing water attachment over multiple planing surfaces, resulting in lift and reduced drag. The concave surface and twist in the upper half provide a unique grip and projection sensation, delivering fluid speed generation in smaller waves and powerful connection and increased speed in larger surf, resulting in faster and improved turns. Helps connect turns while generating and maintaining speed with a more predictable engaged feel.

Benefits of the Scimitar Tip
Originally developed in 2006, The Scimitar Tip is flattened edge at the fin's trailing end, tightens the turn arc by reducing the template's length. This complements the 3/2 foil's lift and speed design, enhancing the feeling of release from turns while maximizing the foil properties throughout the fin's template.

Blackstix Construction

Springy, Fluid, & Responsive
Enhance your surfing experience with Futures Blackstix fins. Designed to excel in a variety of wave conditions, these fins are specially crafted to benefit surfers when the waves are small and mushy. Featuring a V2 inside foil, these fins generate and maintain speed throughout turns, ensuring you stay in the sweet spot even in less-than-ideal wave conditions. The precision carbon and fiberglass matrix construction, paired with specialized epoxy resin, results in a lightweight fin with incredible response, making your board feel more lively and responsive.

Upgrade your surfboard and elevate your surfing experience with Futures Blackstix fins. Take on any wave conditions with confidence and enjoy the thrill of riding even the smallest and mushiest waves.

V2 Foil | Speed Generating
Futures' revolution in fin and foil design. The inside surface of the fin is concave at the base and transitions to a flat surface at the tip of the fin, improving how water flows across fin. The V2 foil creates an effortless feeling rail-to-rail so you can keep speed while setting up big maneuvers down the line, even when the waves you’re surfing lack power.

Carbon & Fiberglass Matrix | Highly Responsive
Futures' proprietary matrix construction featuring precision shaped carbon fiber and fiberglass combined with a lightweight core is engineered to provide a highly responsive flex pattern. This gives a snappy feel to your board and enables the unique liveliness that only Blackstix can provide.

Epoxy Resin | Light & Lively
To add one more layer of performance to the Blackstix, Futures use a proprietary epoxy resin that is lighter, tougher and more responsive than polyester resin. These features all play a role in making the Blackstix the liveliest and fastest fins in the world. As a bonus, epoxy emits 50-75% fewer VOCs (volatile organic compounds) than polyester resin, which means a decrease in harmful chemicals in our environment.
