Wax Fresh Wax Scraper

Well, let me say I want to give a FULL review of this wax removal tool.

Initial impressions: it is a HARD plastic which is good because the edges are thin and very sharp. It was smaller than I initially expected, but that was not an issue.

First use: I grabbed a board from the quiver with some old wax, set it on an open trash can and started scraping the wax. It does take wax off ALL the way, the first time. I have been applying a new coat of “sticky” wax to this base coat for at least a year, so it was pretty thick. There is a fair amount of elbow grease required to pull or push that bad boy through the wax. Probably took about 5 min.

Second board: I raced in to grab another board, and this was my daily that had been accumulating wax for at least 18 months. I pressed down and pulled it across the top and it revealed the beautiful lost symbol, as if I was uncovering treasure. I tried to mimic the quick circles I saw in the video to complete the board in less than a minute, but with the amount of wax, I didn’t stand a chance.

Third board: This is my mini Simmons which doesn’t get ridden often. The wax was neat with a great base coat and very evenly spaced bumps. This board, with a light coat of wax, took only about a minute to scrape as the little circle pattern was working well.

After I was done, the wax fresh was coated in nasty old sex wax, however, I ran it under the hottest water I could stand, and easily wiped it off with a paper towel revealing the still new appearing wax fresh. All edges in tact.

Overall: It worked well, but unless you’re taking off a light layer of wax, it’s going to require a good amount of work. Well thought out, well made, but worth $25 after shipping… I guess that’s for you to decide.

Works a lot better than the plastic ice scraper or wax comb that I was using before. Very comfortable to hold and doesn't require much effort to remove the wax. Didn't give it 5 stars because it doesn't leave a completely clean surface.

It does work great, way better than using a wax comb or cooking spatula.

Had several boards which had some serious wax buildup, but had been putting off doing because of how much work it is and not looking forward to having sore hands from holding a scraper. I randomly came across this scraper and figured why not give it a try. Anything has to be better than regular wax comb.

This thing works like a charm, and easily took the wax off. My boards are well used so the decks are smooth. But there was no issue. It's hard plastic and smaller than it might expect, but because it's shaped like a small knob easy to hold. It was so easy to use actually stripped the wax while on a call and the other person was completely unaware.

Yes, it's more expensive that a wax comb, but totally worth it.
