The Taylor Jensen Series The Gem Helium Surfboard proves that alternative thinking leads to wonderful developments. The Gem is a collaboration between Dan Mann and 2X World Longboard Champion Taylor Jensen. He and Taylor decided to call this model The Gem because of how valuable it is - a one board quiver for 9 foot plus board riders that can trim on the nose as easily as it can carve on rail. The diamond tail isn’t a coincidence. It’s a Gem.

Cleanline Staff Sarah_s Says:A beautiful and responsive longboard, and fun for any experience level. The Gem can hold its own in little ankle biters to just overhead waves. It's super fun and incredibly versatile. If you're looking for a longboard with some performance, the Gem is true to its namesake.

Product Construction
Helium Core Technology
A stringerless EPS core with flex controlled at the rails made from Paulownia and Balsa wood - this construction is light and lively underfoot, and excellent at generating speed in everyday waves.
Additional Info
Years ago Taylor asked Dan to consider a ‘one board in the trunk’ option for long boarders who want both trim and turns; he was essentially asking Dan for a design that would land somewhere between his TJ Pro and his TJ Everyday.
Dan’s response was an intriguing intersection of shortboard style concaves with a longboard style outline and the same fin placements that Taylor likes in all his boards.
Wave Type
This is Taylor Jensen and Dan Mann’s one-board quiver longboard, the one longboard you’d keep in your trunk that can do it all. Ride as a Single fin in small waves for traditional trim and nose rides, and switch up the configuration to Two Plus One in bigger waves to hit the lip, draw some turns, and have a lot of fun.
Board Features
The Gem offers a bit more performance than the Special T, with a deep double concave in the tail to a deep single concave in the nose to help keep water flowing and increase speed. The diamond tail shortens the rail line for more pivot, but still has lots of hold and drive. It also does feature a hard edge, for that higher level performance with a bit more spice.
Helium Core Technology
This is your ideal technology choice for generating speed in weak, everyday waves. The Firewire Helium technology is a stringerless 1.0 lb EPS foam core with flex controlled with rails made from Paulownia and Balsa wood, running the complete length from nose to tail, combined with a 3mm proprietary aerospace composite deck skin.
The wood rails enable a lively flex in the rail that gives a loaded-up, spring-back feeling, and the deck skins make your board feel this way for a long time.
Helium deck skins are beneficial for both durability and performance - and have a memory that will rebound back to form after being compressed, making it very responsive in addition to keeping your deck surface pristine for many years.
Helium Performance
Ideal for generating speed in weak, everyday waves - this is your choice if you want unmatched response, lightweight and durability. Helium has a lively, responsive flex underfoot, and surfs quickly and explosively when creating tight angles.
