Additional Info
Better Starts
A cold, damp, stinky wetsuit creates dread and hesitancy. Gift yourself a dry, feel-good start to your session.
Longer Gear Life
Constant moisture degrades materials. SURFDRY extends the usable life of your wetsuit and booties.
Skin Protection
Mold, fungus and mildew not only cause stench and unhappiness, they lead to skin irritations and infections. A dry wetsuit reduces the risk.
Using SURFDRY is Easy!
SURFDRY relies on airflow to accelerate and complete the drying cycle. When used properly, SURFDRY rapidly eliminates trapped moisture on the inside of booties and wetsuits.
Step 1: Rinse & Hang
Rinse your gear with fresh water. It make all things better! Hang your gear. Folding your wetsuit at the waist is recommended to minimize stretching. Select a warm and dry indoor location for drying.
Step 2: Set Mode & Insert
Inlet air needs to exit to speed gear drying. For Wetsuits, set the SURFDRY shutter to wetsuit mode. Adjust your gear so that there aren't any pinch points restricting outlet airflow. Booties are different. Set the SURFDRY unit to bootie mode by twisting the shutter. This mode intakes dry air into your booties and exhausts moist air through the orange outlet adjacent to the main housing. Once set, insert the SURFDRY units into your gear.
Step 3: Power Up & Dry
Plug one SURFDRY into a USB power source. Daisy chain SURFDRY units together, check for outlet air flow, and you're all set! Relax and enjoy fresh and dry gear by the next morning!
Why Dry Gear Matters
- Fungi and bacteria need warm, moist environments to grow.
- Dry gear disrupts their life cycle, reducing the chance for infection.
- Mold and mildew are also major allergens and irritants, potentially triggering asthma and skin reactions.
SURFDRY was built to break the moisture cycle. Their proven technology ensures wetsuits, booties, gloves, and other water gear dry faster — so you stay healthier, surf or dive longer, and avoid preventable infections. Don’t let hidden moisture cost you sessions — or your skin health. Dry smart. Stay strong.
The Proof
SURFDRY products are designed and optimized by engineers (and surfers!) using data. Check out the drying data— natural evaporation vs. SURFDRY. For best results, SURFDRY recommends to finish drying in an indoor location (garages included) where air is warm and not saturated with moisture. It is worth noting, wetsuit drying increases humidity in small rooms, such as a small closet or even bathroom. Increased humidity prolongs drying.
Best Results for Overnight Drying?
Very thick wetsuits, especially those manufactured from open-cell neoprene, absorb tremendous amounts of water. When saturated, these types of wetsuits will often absorb more than 5 pounds of water, commonly more than the wetsuit's own dry weight. Thick and open-cell wetsuits, particularly ones with hoods, may take longer to fully dry. Is a warmer drying location available?
SURFDRY Story
This is the product that no one knew they needed. Many surfers were doing it all wrong and will never go back after trying it. As lifelong surfers and watermen, the founders believed wetsuits simply stayed wet and stinky. After one surfer’s wife complained about a smelly wetsuit and booties, the idea for SURFDRY was born. Word spread quickly, and a few engineers who tested the product became instant believers, joining the effort to make SURFDRY available to everyone.
SURFDRY is powered by surfers, outdoor enthusiasts, and technologists with experience at companies such as Apple, Williams-Sonoma, EMC, Dell Technologies, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and several Silicon Valley startups. That collective experience, knowledge, and the lessons learned from past challenges have been applied to create an innovative, durable product.
SURFDRY Mission
SURFDRY exists to end the dread—the chill, the stink, the itch, and the waste. Wetsuits were never meant to stay wet, stink up cars, or rot out in a single season. SURFDRY was created for those who show up early, paddle out in the cold, and push their gear to the limit. The company’s products dry fast, fight odor, protect skin, and extend wetsuit life to keep gear in the water and out of landfills. Support local surf shops. Reduce waste. Start dry. Stay out longer.
