The yellow Sunkist represents being at the beach surfing all day long. Salty, sandy and sun kissed. This board is more performance oriented and because it has more edge — the turns are faster and easier to maneuver big waves. It's fast, vibrant and fun. This board is a smaller more performance tuned version The “Velvet Hour” with similar elements. It has concave for lift on the nose and a wide tail for stability. It has performance rails which are slightly more pinched and a harder trailing edge in the tail, basically the same rail profile Soleil Errico had on the boards she was riding when she won her world titles.

Product Construction
Thunderbolt Technology
Thunderbolt Technology utilizes advanced materials and technology to decrease weight while enhancing performance, flex characteristics, board control, and durability. Mass-produced epoxy boards are corky and stiff. While light and durable, they simply don’t ride well. But Thunderbolt’s hand-built boards take superior epoxy materials to an entirely different level. These boards provide the feel and sensitivity of a good poly board but deliver performance far beyond traditional epoxy pop-out constructions. Indeed, those who ride these high-tech epoxy boards claim they actually feel better than polyurethane. Thunderbolt boards are 100% hand layups. They begin with an EPS foam core with multi-component carbon fiber stringer systems that produce engineered flex and twist for a more lively, responsive performance. Proprietary designs employing internal carbon fiber components are then arrayed in the deck and bottom of the deck for precise flex control and strength. The core shield PVC provides flexible protection to increase strength and durability without compromising the flex and twist characteristics built into the blank. With ample carbon fiber and fiberglass in the deck, bottom, and rails, these boards both outperform and outlast traditional PU boards and other epoxy designs.
Thunderbolt Silver
There are 3 construction types within the Thunderbolt Technology. Thunderbolt Silver is handcrafted using an all-around fiberglass lamination. The bottom laminations are 6oz. and 4oz. fiberglass layers, while the deck laminations are 6oz carbon fiber and 6oz fiberglass. A classic feel with an enhanced hand-crafted result.
Additional Info
Soleil wanted to design a board that would have smooth rail to rail response in punchy / powerful surf allowing her to seamlessly connect turns and get to the nose without losing flow. She wanted to marry this flow with stability, to be able to walk the nose and lock into the pocket for those title winning nose rides. It was critical that the performance board did not have too much divergence in character from the “Velvet hour Log” so that the transition between lengths for wave conditions would not need too much adjustment in her surfing style nor strategy. So in summary, taking all the elements that you would find in a performance longboard and applying them to a single fin performance hybrid that has the vintage “log Look” under arm. Soleil is riding a 10” fin in this model which goes really nicely with the wider tail characteristics of the shape, allowing the tail to lock into turns and not skate around too much.
