"The Psycho Tech 7mm Round Toe Boot is up there with the warmest boots on the market so if you’re feet need to stay toasty warm take a look at this great boot. For me, this is a low 50s and below boot, and should keep you warm into the low 40s. 55 degrees and up this boot is overkill. The fit was great, and the overall feel and flexibility for a 7mm was amazing and didn’t hinder my balance/control. The one thing I think everyone should know about this boot is it’s a bit hard to get on, and I am extra careful to not yank too hard on the neoprene as I’ve ripped boots in the past by doing that."

I have been using O'Neill booties exclusively for the past 21 years of South New Jersey winter surfing. I have a slightly narrow size 9 foot, and I have been using a men's size 8 with no problems. Over the years, I have alternated between the Heat model and the latest Psycho Tech model. I recently wanted to purchase 5mm and 7mm replacement Heat model booties. All of a sudden, the size 8 was too small, and the size 9 was too big. So, I took a chance with a size 8 with this newer Psycho Tech, both in the 7mm and the 5mm, and I am glad I took the leap. The fitting for me for this model is the same as the past 21 years: Snug, comfortable, warm, not too difficult to get on and off. I have been wearing the 7mm booties in 41 degree water with high 30's / low 40's air temperature. Toasty. I expect the same with the 5mm with water in the 50's. So, very simply, go for it.
