Great for central coast CA

I've always bought the standard 3mm cap with bill. Due to the shortage of wetsuit accessories this winter, when I lost my regular cap out at Ocean Beach, I had to settle for this thinner version. Turns out it's more than fine for mid-50's water. I mainly want the hood for protection against swimmer's and surfer's ear, and it does a great job of that. There's no way to adjust the chin strap, which is the only downside to this cap, but it fits snugly and comfortably. Recommended.

Exactly what I expected..

Wasn't looking for or expecting something super warm for frigid temps. I surf in the SF Bay Area and needed something to help keep my ears/head warm to help slow down the development of surfer's ear. I'm not a huge fan of hooded wetsuits so I thought I'd try this out. It's easy to get on, keeps my head and ears warm, and fits really well. I don't use it every session, but it really helps on the colder/windier days. I use it with the Mack's silicone ear plugs. The silicone ear plugs stay warmer (the inner ear growth is the ear protecting against the wind/cold) because they change to the temp of your head. My hat size is 7 1/4" and the size medium fits well for me with long hair.

Great no-nonsense product from Oneill. Low profile and gets the job done.
One of Oneill's least flashy/functional products. I hope they leave this model alone for a few years, unlike their Ninja booties.....(meaning it works, don't change/cheapen it!!!)......
