Behind the collaboration / with illustrator Laihha Organna Moss-Novak aka @Loindaflow

Oregon-born and Hawai‘i-based, Laihha Organna Moss-Novak is an illustrator and designer whose work lives at the intersection of punk and paradise. Her bold linework and distinctive style draw from a life surrounded by tattoos, music, and the ocean—merging edgy motifs like shark jaws with soft, organic elements such as palms and night surf scenes.

Though she studied sustainability and water resources, Laihha’s creative path came into focus through travel, farming, and a deepening connection to the sea. Surfing became both a muse and a daily rhythm, inspiring a visual language that feels instinctive and untamed.

Under the name Loindaflow, she has built a cult following for artwork that’s equal parts grit and grace. Her fin design for this release is no exception: “looks like it might bite, but is actually really chill.” a balance of edge and ease—just like her art

“My artwork blends punk-inspired grit and edginess with the calm of nature. I love mixing sharp, edgy themes—like skulls—with soft, flowing forms and cool, soothing colors. I wanted this fin design to be no different. My creative process brought me to focus on a shark jaw/ shark tooth theme, bringing an edge while also including flowing palm leaves and a night time surf scene to bring in some tranquility. I wanted to make sure the design was simple so that it worked well on the surface area of the fin and was sure to compliment anyone's longboard."

"My artistic style is a culmination of different eras in my life and the influences I've surrounded myself with. There wasn’t just one defining moment, but a few key experiences that shaped the way I create. My dad was a tattoo artist his whole life, and both my parents were covered head to toe in tattoos. That world felt normal to me from the start, and I naturally drew inspiration from tattoo culture—developing my linework art style as early as childhood. In my teens, I fell in love with punk music and spent hours recreating my favorite album covers and band t-shirts, which left a lasting imprint on my style. Then, as an adult, discovering surfing in 2019 was the spark that led me to my current subject matter. I fell in love with surfing hard and fast, and it became something i could draw about everyday.“ – Laihha
