The Harley Ingleby HIBT 3+3 Surfboard is the first full collaboration between Billy Tolhurst × Harley Ingleby; a brand-new design built from scratch. While previous Tolhurst ×Thunderbolt models have evolved from Billy’s 50+ years of model refinement, this one’s different. Billy and Harley teamed up from day one to create something completely new and were put through more R&D than any previous model. Offering more flow and paddle power. Ideal for downsizing from a longer board or complementing a MID 6 or MOE. Three boards in one!

Additional Info
Pairs well with the FCS II HIBT Quad Fin Set & FCS II HIBT Twin Fin Set.
Fins Configuration Options:
- Quad (black plugs)
- Twin (white plugs)
- Asym: Twin on toe side, quad on heel side
Taking the versatility of the HIBT to new levels is the 3+3 fin system, letting you ride it as a true quad, true twin, or an asym fin setup. It’s like having three boards in one - super versatile, super fun. If you’ve been curious about asym boards or just want more out of one shape, the HIBT 3+3 opens the door. It’s fast, versatile, and made for fun.
The HIBT is designed to suit a wide range of surfers. All sizes are very fast and incredibly loose off the top, even as a quad. The subtle but effective bottom on the HIBT keeps the front free and neutral, meaning you can ride it comfortably on or over volume.
The shorter sizes (5’10, 6’0, 6’2) are perfect for those looking for a performance shortboard in Thunderbolt tech. The longer sizes (6’6, 6’10, 7’2) offer more flow and paddle power – ideal for downsizing from a longer board or complementing a MID6 or MOE.
Plan Shape: Full nose, clean outline, and a sting-style flyer into a deep fish tail for control.
Flyer/Sting: Helps the board release and pivot easily - especially as a quad.
Bottom Contour: Flat entry with Billy’s signature rail relief and double concave underfoot.
Rocker: A tuned-up version of the BT Twin rocker - fastest in the lineup.
Thunderbolt Technology
Thunderbolt Technology utilizes advanced materials and technology to decrease weight while enhancing performance, flex characteristics, board control, and durability. Mass-produced epoxy boards are corky and stiff. While light and durable, they simply don’t ride well. But Thunderbolt’s hand-built boards take superior epoxy materials to an entirely different level. These boards provide the feel and sensitivity of a good poly board but deliver performance far beyond traditional epoxy pop-out constructions. Indeed, those who ride these high-tech epoxy boards claim they actually feel better than polyurethane. Thunderbolt boards are 100% hand layups. They begin with an EPS foam core with multi-component carbon fiber stringer systems that produce engineered flex and twist for a more lively, responsive performance. Proprietary designs employing internal carbon fiber components are then arrayed in the deck and bottom of the deck for precise flex control and strength. The core shield PVC provides flexible protection to increase strength and durability without compromising the flex and twist characteristics built into the blank. With ample carbon fiber and fiberglass in the deck, bottom, and rails, these boards both outperform and outlast traditional PU boards and other epoxy designs.
