The Firewire Neutrino I-Bolic 2.0 Surfboard, designed by Daniel Thomson, is a modern performance hybrid built on Tomo’s signature Modern Planing Hull. Featuring a wide chop tail for low drag and high speed, this board excels in small wave conditions. Its Quad-In-Single-Concave bottom adds lift and responsiveness, while the ultra parallel rail line maximizes speed and drive in a shorter length. A balanced nose profile improves paddling and reduces swing weight for sharp, agile turns.
Pair with Firewire Velox Tri Fin Set as a thruster for the best performance, and try the Endorfins Twin + 2 Fin Set for more speed and looseness when conditions are small and gutless.

Product Construction
I-Bolic 2.0 Core Technology
I-beam core construction with flex controlled at the rails using high density foam - an engineering feat developed for performance. I-Bolic 2.0 Technology offers the same speed, control, strength and response as the original, but with increased strength due to a fully engineered carbon strip inlay on the bottom deck and an updated look.
Fiberglass Lamination Technology
Like all of Firewire's lamination technologies, their standard lamination utilizes bio resin. The deck starts with a layer of E Glass, with a 3mm high density composite skin overtop, wrapped in a second layer of 4oz. E Glass. The bottom has two layers of 4oz. E Glass.

Introducing the Neutrino in I-Bolic 2.0 Technology designed by Daniel Thomson, Tomo's latest Modern Planing Hull and performance hybrid.
Inspired by the Nano, one of Tomo's original Quad Inside Single Concave Modern Planing Hull designs from around 2008/2009, the Neutrino features the same wide chop tail design - one of the lowest drag tail designs you can make, allowing the water to release perfectly symmetrically or freely over the chop angle at the same time, which translates into low drag, high-speed surfing, and ideal for small wave conditions and creating speed when the wave energy is low. Tomo's Quad-In-Single-Concave design helps give the board lift and make the board feel really free on the water, it makes the board go across the boundary layer of the water with less drag and more speed.
The template of the Neutrino is Tomo's ultra parallel rail line, which is one of Tomo's staple designs, which allows you to size the board as short as possible while maintaining maximum functional rail line throughout the design: like a skateboard for the ocean. The nose has nice area to paddle forward and catch waves with, and is great for low swing weight performance surfing so that you can hit the lip and have no feeling of extra swing weight on the nose of your board.
Pair with Firewire Velox Fin Set as a Thruster for the best performance, and try the Slater Designs Endorfins Twin + 2 for more speed and looseness when conditions are small and gutless.

Wave Type
The Neutrino works amazing in small waves but holds up in medium to even double overhead waves, and is ideal for small wave conditions in which you need to create speed when energy is low. Because it offers the drive and foam of a much bigger board in a smaller package, it's bottom contour is the perfect design to get you going in small waves and give you a lot of hold when there's a bit of juice.
Board Features
Inspired by the Nano, the Neutrino features Tomo's signature Quad-In-Single-Concave Modern Planing Hull bottom contours with a wide chop tail design and an ultra parallel outline with the wide point super narrow for easy rail-to-rail transition. Foiled for performance but offers lots of range thanks to the lengthened rail line you get from the parallel outline, offering incredible drive and control.

I-Bolic Core Technology

The Firewire patent pending I-Bolic core technology is an engineering feat developed for performance, without the need for external carbon layups or heavy laminations. These models offer the stiffness of Linear Flex Technology (LFT) with the flex and spring-back of their best-selling Helium technology. This is Kelly Slater's favorite technology to ride, offering speed, control, strength and response.
I-Bolic Performance
I-Bolic cores have the stiffness of the Firewire old Linear Flex Technology (LFT) with the flex and spring-back of their best-selling Helium technology. The I-beam ensures firmness underfoot and unparalleled break strength, while the high density foam parabolic rails enable flex and recoil through turns.
I-Bolic Construction
The Firewire I-Bolic technology is a 1.5 lb EPS foam core with a 18mm high density foam stringer in the core, 16mm high density foam parabolic rails to control flex, and a 5mm high density foam springer on the bottom. Paired with their standard fiberglass lamination, on the deck it has a 3mm high density composite deck skin on the deck sandwiched between the double 4 oz E fiberglass cloth layers, and also has double 4 oz E fiberglass capping the bottom.
I-Bolic Lamination Compatibility
I-Bolic cores are paired with standard fiberglass lamination, AWT fiberglass lamination, and Volcanic lamination.
