Product Info

The Album Surf Sunstone Surfboard is the foundation of Asher Pacey's quiver, a baseline twin-fin fish for everyday surf and travel. This is the purest form of a classic fish that we make, an ode to Southern California. It has traditional fish roots that have been refined to perform and feel more alive. It has elements from our long-running UTF model, but with a new outline and a more pronounced vee off the exit, along with a little more double-concave under the back foot. Great paddler and gets up to speed right away. Ride it with keel fins or more of an upright twin template depending on where you're surfing. Size it 3-4 Liters above your performance shortboard.

Staff Says Cleanline Staff Dexter Says:

“I’m new to this whole fish board thing and decided to give the Album Sunstone a shot. When the board arrived, I was tripping at how chunky the nose was. But after getting a few sessions on it, this thing is mental. It has great speed down the line and goes on rail really well. A very flat entry rocker allows you to get into some of the most gutless waves, which are common here on the Oregon coast during the summer months. This is a great summer board for burgery to head high waves.”

Concept
The Sunstone is the foundation of Asher Pacey's quiver. This is the purest form of a classic fish that we make, an ode to Southern California. It has traditional fish roots that have been refined to perform and feel more alive.

About
Surfed with a classic approach, the board is doing all the work, trimming and generating speed with fast and fluid carves. Paddles and gets up to speed regardless of conditions, bringing small surf to life with easy glide and release, while also offering surprising hold in better conditions. A standard keel gives it the most classic feel, but a modern keel or upright fin can bring out another level of performance.

Forms & Details
Applying these concepts to new designs has allowed the Sunstone to take on many forms, each of which offering a new feeling. For anyone looking to dive deeper.

Bottom Contour
A subtle double-concave under the back foot and vee off the exit, the Sunstone combines tradition and progression.

Deck/Rocker Profile
A pronounced beak nose to carry foam throughout the board combined with a flat rocker profile makes the Sunstone a great paddler that gets up to speed right away.
