Jack Molan partnered with Josh and they opened Cleanline Surf together in 1980. Jack was at Cleanline for the first 1-2 years (Josh wasn't totally sure) and left to commercial fish up in Alaska. In the face of brutal Bering Sea winters, Jack struggled with tremendous pressure from storms, separation from family, sleep deprivation, and the intense responsibility to bring his crew home safely. Who would do such a thing? What motivated Jack to endure such hardship? Come aboard as Capt. Jack takes you fishing on the bering sea. Gain insight into his thinking that led to performance under pressure.

Capt. Jack not only survived, but he also thrived in ferocious winds, killer waves, and deadly ice flows on the Bering and Arctic Seas. The story he brings back from the edge will blow you away!

About the Author

Only a few big waves come along in your life. Stories of Alaska fishing fired me up as a young man. I had to go, but could I endure it? My story is truly a family thing. We’re like astronauts. The only thing we don’t bring is the air we breathe.” - Jack Molan

Capt. Jack lives with Joanne, his wife of 41 years, aboard a classic wooden boat. His three adult children and wife have all worked in the fishing industry in Alaska. Capt. Jack commanded the Fishing Vessel Columbia for 28 years. He also captained the “Deadliest Catch” boats Aleutian Ballad and Cornelia Marie and Arctic Research Vessel Norseman II.
