A longboard designed to excel in everyday conditions. When Taylor and Dan set out the guidelines were simple: make it fast, loose and free. A board that’s all about making surfing fun in a wide range of conditions without compromising performance. What came out of years of testing and refining is what you see in the TJPROV. An all conditions fun-formance longboard that excels in average 2-6ft surf. Firewire chose to use the Thunderbolt tech for is responsiveness and durability. The Thunderbolts torsional flex allows you to generate speed and spring in and out of turns creating drive in conditions that leave most longboards feeling sluggish. That lively performance combined with the durability of the Thunderbolt builds was the perfect match for this design.
The DNA of the ProV is rooted in the TJPRO, with tweaks to optimize performance in average surf. A lower rocker profile to make paddling and skating across soft flat sections easy. A wider nose for more stability on the tip. The squash tail and the added spiral V out the tail allows for more release and makes it easier to lean into tighter turns and feel loose under foot. Throw in a quad fin option in addition to the 2+1 and it makes this board a Swiss Army knife of longboards.

Product Construction
Thunderbolt Technology
Thunderbolt Technology utilizes advanced materials and technology to decrease weight while enhancing performance, flex characteristics, board control, and durability. Mass-produced epoxy boards are corky and stiff. While light and durable, they simply don’t ride well. But Thunderbolt’s hand-built boards take superior epoxy materials to an entirely different level. These boards provide the feel and sensitivity of a good poly board but deliver performance far beyond traditional epoxy pop-out constructions. Indeed, those who ride these high-tech epoxy boards claim they actually feel better than polyurethane. Thunderbolt boards are 100% hand layups. They begin with an EPS foam core with multi-component carbon fiber stringer systems that produce engineered flex and twist for a more lively, responsive performance. Proprietary designs employing internal carbon fiber components are then arrayed in the deck and bottom of the deck for precise flex control and strength. The core shield PVC provides flexible protection to increase strength and durability without compromising the flex and twist characteristics built into the blank. With ample carbon fiber and fiberglass in the deck, bottom, and rails, these boards both outperform and outlast traditional PU boards and other epoxy designs.
Thunderbolt Black
There are 3 construction types within the Thunderbolt Technology. Thunderbolt Black is handcrafted using a blend of carbon and fiberglass lamination layers. The bottom lamination layers are 2-ounces of fiberglass layered with 6 oz. of carbon fiber while the deck is layered with 2 oz. of fiberglass and then 6 oz. of carbon fiber. The handcrafted result is a competition weight and flex longboard.
