Stab in the Dark - WINNER. The Inferno 72 is the model Sharp Eye Surfboards built for the 2021 Stab in the Dark contest. This board is a PU/PE replica of the Dark Arts Epoxy board that took the win.
The Inferno 72 was originally designed for Filipe Toledo to compete on at The Surf Ranch Pro in 2020. Filipe ended up winning the comp. When Sharp Eye shaper Marcio Zouvi was approached by Stab to enter the Dark Arts edition he chose to supply the Inferno 72.
The Inferno 72 is a tuned up version of the Disco Inferno, a tried and tested QS favorite. Sharp Eye Surfboards have added more rocker in the entry and exit for more hold through turns and drive. It’s going to surf its best in small to medium waves and just like the Disco Inferno the Inferno 72 is a performance surfboard that will handle just about all conditions thrown at it and maintain its spark.

Cleanline Staff Dexter Says:“I recently got my hands on the Sharp Eye 5’11 Inferno 72. It has been a great shortboard for 3-6 foot clean waves. The pulled-in tail and nose make the board come alive in punchy waves. I like the Sharp Eye Inferno 72 for the way it hides the foam. It has a bit of chunky foam up under the chest, which works great for paddling into waves, but the tail is thinned out, making it very loose and drivey. I've paired this board with the FCS 2 PC Kolohe Andino Thruster fin set. These fins have worked great in the punchier waves because the rake and base give you good release off the top.”

Product Construction
Polyester - PU
Polyester or PU construction uses traditional materials and laminating techniques to produce a strong, reliable surfboard with high quality finishes. All polyester boards are CNC milled from the shapers files and laminated by hand using quality components such as Hexcel fiberglass, Silmar resin and Bennett foam. For years traditional polyester boards have been at the forefront of performance surfing. These boards feature a progressive flex pattern controlled by a high-grade timber stringer and feel very reliable under your feet. Polyester construction will perform in all surf conditions and can be adapted to suit a wide variety of surfboard models.
Additional Info
The Inferno 72 has been developed for the intermediate to advanced level surfer. This board has been designed to surf well from 2-6 feet in everyday conditions from reef to point breaks.
The Inferno 72 is a tuned up version of the Disco Inferno, a tried and tested QS favorite. With added entry and exit rocker and medium to low rails the Inferno 72 has more drive and hold through turns than the Disco Inferno. The Inferno 72 is going to surf at its best in small to medium waves. It's a performance surfboard that will handle just about all conditions thrown at it and maintain its spark.
The Inferno 72 has a medium entry rocker that seamlessly runs into a flattened exit, this creates increased speed from the take off with enough lift to avoid nose diving. The medium exit provides hold and drive when surfing off the back foot whilst allowing ease of speed generation and the ability to draw out longer lines. A perfect combination for everyday conditions. It’s recommended to order the Inferno 72 in the same size as your go-to shortboard. Drop one inch for a step down. Contact us for custom dimensions.
