Channel Islands Essential Surf Pack Backpack - Black - 2022

I can haul down 4/3 2XL wetsuit, Sz 13 booties, changing poncho, changing mat, 3x wax, fins, two 32 oz water flasks with this pack. This is my 2nd one and they hold very well and last several years. The padding is comfy and lots of compartments for everything you need. You will not go wrong with this pack!

I have this bag and the comparable size from DaKine. Got this one due to its larger stated volume however it actually has less room in the dry bag portion. My XL 4/3 hooded and booties DO NOT fit without totally stuffing them in which is horrible for the suit. There are many compartments for stuff but all the zippers are very weak and undersized. The bag looks cool and cute but too many gadget type things and it definitely was not made to be used for hardcore daily surfing. Not strong enough, too many weak points, too many moving parts and I would think it obvious that tiny metal zippers wont hold up in heavy use and salt and sand exposure. The elastic and mesh water bottle holders are very weak and thin. Will stretch out and probably rip/snag very soon- basically unusable and stupid. All should be heavy Cordura or ripstop. I could've overlooked all that but the whole purpose being to properly hold a winter suit is not at all met and I wish I didn't trust these other reviews and I would return it if I didn't have to pay shipping. This bag would be good if you're on a live aboard boat trip or somewhere tropical and you're just trying to keep clothes dry in the bag. I highly do not recommend this for cold water surfers who surf daily and hike in sometimes. Both of these bags (DaKine and CI) are too small, the CI is obviously better for form than function. My advise...Check it out in person before buying!

This is an extremely utilitarian backpack with a large dry bag that is large enough to fit a wetsuit or towel, middle compartment for storing medium sized items you'd want to bring to the beach and a front pocket with compartments for storing wax, small fins, screws and other items you might need for a good surf session. It also has side pockets and 2 water bottle holders. I find that I'm using the backpack even when I don't have to walk very far, just because it's so convenient, easy to carry and large enough that you can put all of your session gear in one place! The dry bag is also nice for protecting any items that you don't want to get wet and when sealed keeps the sand out pretty well. Love this pack.

Surf usually stinks in TX so I’m constantly traveling for surf. Never fails I forget to pack “something.” This pack is just so dang perfect, I pack everything I need and it’s perfectly organized. I just leave it in my closet until my next surf. So incredibly well thought out it has a compartment for everything. With this backpack all I gotta pack for a surf trip if my board. Everything else is already stored nicely in this backpack.

Bought for Father’s Day. Did a lot of research on the surf bags. This one is hands down one of the best, if not the best surf bag.
