How to measure:
Chest: With your arms relaxed by your side, measure around the fullest part of your chest.
Waist: Measure around your natural waistline.
Hips: Measure around the fullest part at the top of your hips.
Used this for the first time today in cold, Lake Michigan water for kite boarding. Put it under a 3/4 back zip. Worked great - maybe not as thick as what it replaced but seemed to keep in the heat. Hood was excellent with minimal leakage. Happy kiter.

Superb Piece of Surfing Gear
Gave away my 5/4 w hood last year; done with surfing winter ice water. 4/3 as thick as I intended to go. Then received opportunity to join a group @ Slater's Surf Ranch in winter - - water temp 48 degrees. 4/3 with no hood sounded unappealing, to be gentle about it! Friend who has one of these hoods highly recommended it. I placed the order w Cleanline, two-day priority arrived smack dab on time (along with the Starbursts, very nice). Wore the hood for 3 sessions in one day at Surf Ranch. This hood saved my bacon. The vest part of it is great, it doesn't chafe or roll up - - I didn't think about it one bit. The hood is perfect. It keeps out the wind & the cold, yet it is lightweight & easy to flip over head & flip back down as well, even with gloves on. Drains easily after a tumble. It dries rapidly. I'm even thinking of surfing cold water again once the east coast gets back around 48 degrees or so. Highly recommend this product. I'd absolutely purchase this hood again. And, as always, Cleanline customer service is what major corporations s/b studying as to 'how to.'

This is a perfect addition to wear under a thin wetsuit as it does not limit range of motion. So glad I got this. The vest also dries really fast.

I've previously always worn a hooded wetsuit for surfing in Oregon, but needed something without a hood for trips down south and warmer days. I liked the suit I bought so much I ended up adding this hood so I could use it year 'round. I was really surprised at how much I love the way the vest hood fits, there's way more neck mobility than a hooded suit and very little water gets past the neck.

Excellent Addition
The O'Neill hooded vest is an excellent addition to my surf bag. I've been using it under my 4/3 summer suit on those cold marine layer mornings. It adds just enough warmth without being restrictive, especially around the neck seal. Definitely a good addition to any wetsuit that doesn't have a hood.
