A formidable ally in the wide world of modern twins, the Modern Wild Child Surfboard likes racing reeling walls and snapping hairpin turns in the tightest of pockets. It’s wise to shift back a gear or two before you even paddle out on this one. Best surfed with a neutrally weighted stance in average to fuller waves, and with a more dominant back foot in steeper waves, the traditional fish outline, combined with modern bottom contours and a quad set-up delivers a very fast, smooth, free-flowing ride.

A fuller nose with a straighter outline through the mid and back section creates stability, and the distinctive deep curved swallow tail helps bite into the face of the wave when the board is on rail. The shorter rail line also contributes to the amazing pivoting capabilities of this model. A subtle single concave through the entry provides great start-up speed and acceleration, then a soft double concave out the tail injects a lively and responsive feel when turning. Low and relaxed, the rocker allows for easy paddling and wave catching as well as enabling the board to trim exceptionally well and carry effortlessly over flatter sections.

Really focus on driving off the fins to capitalize the speed and flow this board can achieve. And don’t be fooled either, the Wild Child will pivot in a super tight radius, and carry incredible momentum when it’s time to move your foot right back on the tail and jam a turn. Features like an old-school beak nose, full rails, and appropriate volume through the nose and under the chest that thins out progressively towards the back delivering great trim stability up front, yet increasing the control component needed on a board like this with a significantly wider tail. The Wild Child is designed to be surfed significantly shorter than your standard board. It is recommended to use FCSII Split Keel Quad Fins to fully maximize the performance of this model.

CONSTRUCTION: Polyester Construction

Polyester or PU construction uses traditional materials and laminating techniques to produce a strong, reliable surfboard with high-quality finishes. All polyester boards are CNC milled from the shapers files and laminated by hand using quality components such as Hexcel fiberglass, Silmar resin, and Bennett foam. For years traditional polyester boards have been at the forefront of performance surfing. These boards feature a progressive flex pattern controlled by a high-grade timber stringer and feel very reliable under your feet. Polyester construction will perform in all surf conditions and can be adapted to suit a wide variety of surfboard models.
