Firewire Surfboards Evo Helium Surfboard
A quality shape like the Firewire Evo Helium Surfboard offers versatility, leading to a bounty of waves. Designed utilizing the Modern Planing Hull concept popularized by Tomo shaper Daniel Thomson, the Evo has softer features and more outline curve to encourage smoother transitions and a more ‘in the pocket’ line of attack. A wider central wide point comparative to the Vader, the Evo should be considered favorable to smaller, weaker waves, however like most Tomo MPH Designs, the Evo will still be quite functional in overhead waves conditions.
Maintaining an almost symmetrical outline and a completely unique and highly innovative “Double inside single concave into split quad concave” planing hull, the Evo feels as if it’s almost ‘levitating’ on the water! Yet once on rail, it has a precise rail sensitivity and hold. The Evo should be ridden as short as possible with user friendly volumes packed into the shortest MPH sizings yet offered by Tomo.

Firewire's Helium construction is a breakthrough in extremely lightweight and durable performance epoxy technology. By pairing existing features from the highly successful FST (Future Shapes Technology) build process with an alternative sandwich skin material, Firewire has created Helium construction which uses this new composite in conjunction with a redesigned parabolic wood rail that includes both Balsa and Paulownia woods. The end result is that Helium has a +15% weight reduction over FST, a slightly faster flex and rebound characteristic, as well as a higher breakpoint. Lighter, stronger and more responsive... Helium is the future under your feet.
