For Fall 2015, O’Neill brings us the new Psycho Tech wetsuit which has replaced the Pyrotech as our favorite cold water wetsuit in the game. It wasn’t just our favorite suit, but also our best selling wetsuit of all time!! For the Fall 2015 season, O’Neill took what was already the lightest, most flexible suit in the water and made it lighter and more flexible, which didn’t seem possible. Having surfed the Pyrotech for two seasons now, I honestly didn’t think that it could be improved on. After getting my hands on the new Psycho Tech and feeling it for myself, it’s apparent that the advanced materials in the TB2 (Technobutter 2) do make the wetsuit more supple and lighter than the Pyrotech or any wetsuit that I have ever felt for that matter.

Reviews for the 2015 REO on the internet and in kite mags provide accurate information highlighting this wave kite’s attributes; fast, direct handling generating consistent power with a sweet low aspect shape that will drift with you down the line. All true. This year I chose the REO after a four year stint on wave-specific delta kite which I selected purely for the purpose of wave riding. I liked the deltas, they go upwind like crazy and stay connected to the wave. If you’re into boosting, they do that well too. What was missing was turning performance so rather than re-hash available reviews, I wanted to write one that highlighted my reasons for switching.
Matt “Mayhem” Biolos, shaper for Lost Surfboards, and our friends at Lib Tech have teamed up and we couldn’t be more excited. Announced at this year’s Sima Surf Expo, Lib Tech will release one of Matt’s newer shapes, the Puddle Jumper, in their revolutionary waterboard construction for Spring. Also part of the collab are two retro fish snowboards.

It was a good year for surfing wetsuits. Manufactures trimmed some suits down and made major improvements in flexibility, especially in cold water suits. In the hunt for your next wetsuit, this information should be a great starting point and reference to what the masses have chosen. Below is a list of the best selling Men’s and Women’s wetsuits for Cleanline in 2014.
