Grain Surfboards began in the basement of a home minutes from the waves in York Beach, Maine. Mike LaVecchia combined his love of board sports with a passion for classic wooden boat-building techniques to create works of art for riding waves. With the help of some friends, Grain has grown into a full-fledged board and kit manufacturer, known for innovative and timeless designs that ride like nothing else.
Grain Surfboards are considered OVERSIZED, and therefore, do not qualify for our *free shipping. The shipping costs for Grain Surfboard kits 8' and shorter are $50, kits 9' and up are $150. These prices are for shipping in the Continental US only and excludes Hawaii and Alaska.
Based on a 1969 Paipo, this 4.5’ Belly board is the newest design we’ve added to our board line. It’s a sweet little board with a classic shape and very little rocker. Put on your fins, and put all those boogie boarders to shame.

This is our most popular board to date. A classic semi performance 9’ noserider. Everyone needs one of these boards in their quiver. The Root features a moderate rocker, slight hollow in the nose and softer rails throughout. Perfect for those mushy knee to head high beach breaks. Smooth and fast.

The 10’ catch anything, go anywhere board, if you can carry it to the beach. Actually this board weighs around 23 pounds and is my personal favorite. Catch’s the smallest waves early, with plenty of room to take a stroll. A classic log that brings out the longboarder in all of us.
Our price: $819.95
A performance twin or quad fin fish offered in either 6'0" and 6'4", this board carries its thickness through the center of the board with a thinner approach in the rails for a more performance feel. Uses a wider outline all around for stability, ease of paddling and speed.
