"A couple years ago, we started paddling in the winter time because we are very connected to the water and just wanted to have a good workout and stay in shape. But this past winter was a very long five months—we went a little crazy. After a day of searching, we discovered this open, 10-mile stretch of slow-running water on the Obere Isar River, near Bad Tölz in southern Germany. We blew up the inflatable sups, put on our 5/3mm wetsuits and 7mm booties, and really dug the stunning watercolors and contrasts of ice, snow, forest, and the fresh air and silence. Who needs more! Good fun!" - Sebastian Schoffel; - Double Take: Stand Up Paddling Puts an End to the "Off Season"
