Designed for advanced surfers with high performance in mind. The Shortboard is easily recognizable with its pointed nose and three fins (but sometimes with two or as many as five). Surfers generally find a shortboard very quick to maneuver compared with other types of surfboards. Shortboards are the hardest boards to paddle and ride but provide the ability to perform tight turns, vertical maneuvers, and top end speed on good waves. Do to it's speedy nature, a shortboard often requires steeper, larger and more powerful waves.
