I took this suit out in 38 degree water for a 2 hour session and it kept me warm the whole time. I actually had to take an extended rest because I was getting a bit too warm, which I much prefer to being cold. The flash dry lining keeps you nice and toasty. I have been way colder in the water on summer days than I was in this wetsuit in February surfing in the Mid-Atlantic. I'm really glad Cleanline Surf reviewed this wetsuit and sells it for such a great price.

This year, for the first time Rip Curl has released their entry level Dawn Patrol Wetsuit in a 5/3mm back zip fullsuit. What makes this suit so exciting is the amount of 5mm neoprene in the suit. Unlike many suits the 5mm neoprene extends throughout the entire leg section where flexibility is not as important, along with on the chest panel. In the arms is where the 3mm neoprene comes in, making the suit as flexible as possible with the E3 Neoprene. Being a Rip Curl wetsuit the neoprene is also cut a bit thicker than other 5mm suits making it that much warmer. To top it all off the 5/3mm Dawn Patrol comes with Flash Dry Lining in the chest panel, adding warmth, and allowing the suit to dry that much faster. Being made to the quality standards of Rip Curl, and the fact that this suit is backed by their excellent warranty makes this suit or top pick for cold water wetsuits under $200.
