Californian turned Austalian shaper Mike Perry was taught basic shaping by big wave pioneer George Downing and started working for Roberts Surfboards in 1964. He went on to make boards for dozens of manufacturers such as Hobie, Blue Cheer, Con, and Natural Progression from 1964 to 1997.
