The following Summer Series models are JS’s most current and reputable small wave models. The Summer series commits itself to gaining the most out of small to average conditions allowing more days in the water.
BLAK BOX is the original summer days performer. It’s the no frills, no nonsense board for surfers who want something they can rely on in absolute junk - yet still have fun on when its good.
Although BLAK BOX hasn't been front and center of our last few ranges its always held its own with a loyal fan base and solid reputation. Its now been updated to follow JS’s latest design qualities; its been narrowed slightly in the nose and tail, has a lower rail and removed double concave. In all, the BB2 has expanded its range of wave types without compromising performance in the small stuff.
On top of all that we have built a stack of them with Black FUTURES boxes.. Understandably.
RAIL TYPE - BLAK BOX 2 has medium full rails. Helping to reduce catch from chop or soft sections.
WAVE HEIGHT - Best performance of BLAK BOX2 will be found in waves that are fat and crumbly but it is also fun in clean almond shaped faces. Best wave height is between 0 and 4 feet. Its fast, manoeuvrable and very rippable for a summer board, you’ll like it most in average conditions when most hi performance boards are struggling. Small beach breaks are ideal.
FIN TYPE - BLAK BOX 2 comes stock and is recommended as a thruster. Alternative setups are available with custom orders.
EXIT ROCKER - Flat (smallest) exit rocker will create drive and speed in small weak conditions.
ENTRY ROCKER - Little (slight) entry rocker is good for creating speed and glide. Performs well in small to medium sized surf.
CONCAVE - Single concave starts in the nose to direct water under your feet for lift and speed. Late double concave starts in front of fins which maintains lift and directs water release for manoeuvrability.
