- Lib Tech Surfboard - 6'8" Vert Series My Go To BoardReview by ShaneR. ShaneR.
RatingI have ridden Lib Tech snowboards since 1996 and couldn't be happier with the enjoyment I have received from their snow products therefore when I heard they were coming out with a line of surfboards I was pretty stoked to say the least! My toughest decision was which Vert to buy and could I afford it. Please keep in mind I have been a loyal Channel Islands customer for years and extremely happy with their products except for all the money paid to fix ding repairs. I travel abroad to surf and ride point breaks with very shallow rocky bottoms regularly so when I learned the new Lib Tech's were pretty much indistructable I was sold. My first few sessions left me regretting the purchase because of how stiff the board is however I couldn't help but notice how fast the board was so I was determined to figure out how to get it to work for me. Fast foward years later, I love my Vert. it is in as good condition as the day I bought it and it has been raked over the rocks more times than I would like to remember. It is fast as hell, carves perfect lines on deep and steep take offs, and is my workhorse. Not gonna lie on days where the conditions are perfect, which is very rare where I live, I go to my quiver of C.I. boards or if it's mushy I go to my fish. I now love my Vert. and I have even grown fond of the stiffness just not on choppy days. Hope this helps, ShaneR.(Posted on 11/17/2015) 2015-11-17
- Lib Tech Surfboard - 6'8" Vert Series Tough RocketReview by CR CR
RatingIm a heavier guy (210lbs) and this is my perfect sports car board for fast, hollow, perfect waves. I wasn't so sure at first because at being at only 38L where with my other boards being between 45-50L. For me if in a strong rip it is a bit harder to paddle her thru it, but will dive deep under waves. The board takes off in a wave like being shot out of a cannon, really suprised me the first time. Love this board and I would buy another if LIB would make some boards with a little more volume and length for us bigger guys.(Posted on 5/19/2015) 2015-05-19
- Lib Tech Surfboard - 6'8" Vert Series Top of line performance and durabilityReview by Ross Ross
Rating6'1 180lbs(Posted on 6/9/2014) 2014-06-09
3 years surfing (intermediate)
90% of sessions from Santa Cruz to Point Reyes...mostly Cronkite and Ocean Beach
I buy and sell used surfboards to get a feel for as many brands, shapes, and materials I can.
This was my first Lib Waterboard model I owned. I had the 6'0" and I rode it everyday it was waist high plus. I rode it in weak waves and hollow waves...it really prefers to good conditions but I was amazed at how fast it was even in mushy chest - head high ocean beach. The flex is consistent and when it snaps back to its regular shape you will rocket out of your turns with soooo much speed!!
I am buying another one ASAP but this time I will go with the 6'4 (better volume for me) I am never going to own another short board that is not made by Lib, the performance is really amazing and they are stronger than any other board I have seen.
I will use the 6'4 Vert for good waves chest - head high +
I am starting my all lib quiver and I am not looking back.
- Lib Tech Surfboard - 6'8" Vert Series Great BoardReview by Chris Chris
RatingThis is my go to board for riding the points in Central California. Super responsive and good down the line. Doesn't have the same flexy feel as fiberglass but I never have to worry about snapping it. Great board for good waves. Not the best for blown out mushy days. I'm 5'10 165lbs and the 6'0 is the perfect size for waist high to a couple ft overhead.(Posted on 1/8/2013) 2013-01-08
